Eligibility Criteria for MIDS Vacancy 2018:

Educational Qualification:

1. Junior Assistant

Essential Qualification: A Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with at least second class and with PG Diploma in the use of office software. Ability to write letters in English and communicate orally in English. Proficient in typing.

Experience: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, email communication and internet with proficiency in typing.

Desirable: Work experience in office administration, should independently draft notes, letters, circulars, etc. Knowledge of Accounting system and using Tally software, good communication skills, and stenography qualification.

2. Library Assistant

Essential qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Library Science / Information Science

Experience: With four years of experience in a reputed national level Research Institute / University / College Library with the working knowledge of Library Classification and Cataloguing Knowledge of integrated Library house-keeping software will be an added advantage.

3. Driver

Essential Qualification: At least a pass in the third form or VIII Standard. Should possess current driving license of a motor vehicle issued by the competent authority with knowledge of attending to minor defects / repairs. Should be able to read Tamil and English and communicate orally in Tamil and English.

Experience: Should have a minimum of five years' experience in driving and maintaining a motor car.

Age Limit:

Pay Scale Details for MIDS Junior Assistant:

Pay Scale:

1. Junior Assistant - Rs.5200 - 20200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

2. Library Assistant - Rs.5200 - 20200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

3. Driver - Rs.5200 - 20200/- with Grade Pay Rs.2400/-

Selection Procedure for MIDS Junior Assistant:

Candidates will be selected based on Short Listing, Written Exam & Interview.

1. Every applicant is required to provide the names and addresses of two referees not associated with MIDS.

2. If previously employed, a letter of good conduct and no objection from the last place of employment to be submitted.

3. The last date for receipt of application including names of referees will be 15th June 2018.

4. The application should be filled in the prescribed format available in the MIDS website [www.mids.ac.in] or by writing to MIDS at adminofficer@mids.ac.in, along with the recent curriculum vitae should be sent to "The Director, Madras Institute of Development Studies, 79, Second Main Road, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, Chennai 600 020" in a sealed envelope superscribing, "Application for the post of Junior Assistant / Library Assistant / Driver".
